In recent years, the number of electric bikes on the market has exploded. There are hundreds and hundreds of options. This can make things a little bit difficult if you don’t have a clue what you’re looking for. So, we figured we would help. Since you’re reading this Wallke X3 Pro Folding Bike review, we assume that you’re interested in the Wallke X3 Pro.
You may have heard that it was one of the best electric folding bikes on the market. You may even have heard that it packed a real punch for a rather competitive price. It’s true. The Wallke X3 is a fantastic bike – but is it for you? That’s what we’re going to take a look at.
Wallke X3 Pro – Who Is It For?
The Wallke X3 Pro is a fat tire folding electric bike. This means that it is not going to be for everybody, but there are some people who will absolutely fall in love with it.
For starters – this is one of the only folding electric bikes on the market. Just like the traditional bike market, the folding market is very small so most manufacturers haven’t really ventured into it. Wallke has, and we are in awe at how they were able to design such a tremendous electric bike with a folding capability. We suppose it would be hard, considering all the electrics they have had to include in the bike. So, if you’re looking for an electric bike that is very portable (you can easily hop onto public transport with the Wallke X3 Pro), then this bike may just well be perfect for you.
Because it has fat tires, the Wallke X3 Pro has been designed for off-roading. It even has a pretty hefty motor to help you navigate the most complex of terrain. That being said, it performs decently well for city living too. So, the X3 Pro is a pretty versatile bike. But, if you’re a huge fan of having some off-road adventures, then the Wallke X3 Pro may be right for you.
Wallke X3 Pro – Specs at a Glance
Let’s start with the specs for the Wallke X3 Pro. We’ll take a deep dive into some of our favorite features later on in this Wallke X3 Pro Folding Electric Bike review. But, for now, let’s tell you what you’ll be getting for your money.
It is worth noting that Wallke has been producing the X3 for four years now. In this time, they have released three versions. We’re going to be focusing explicitly on the 2024 model, which is the best they have produced. If you can find either the 2020 or 2021 models, note that they aren’t all that different from the 2024 unit. They’re slightly lighter, have a lower top speed, and the brakes are slightly different. However, the differences pretty much end there. You’ll still be happy with them. We promise.

Wallke X3 Pro – Features at a Glance
We know that merely detailing the specs may not mean a lot to those who are buying an electric bike for the first time. So, we’re going to tell you a little bit about what the most important features of the electric bike mean, and how this may impact whether the Wallke X3 Pro is the right bike for you.
Portability (Weight & Folding)
Obviously, the main feature of the Wallke X3 Pro Folding Electric Bike is the fact that it can fold. As we said before, not many electric bikes can do this. This may mean that it is a selling point for many of you.
Folding the bike up is easy. It is a simple latch that you need to open, and you can have the bike folded up in a matter of minutes. This can make the Wallke X3 Pro perfect for those with limited storage space in their homes, or who regularly get onto electric transport.
Considering how hard it must be to design an electric bike that can fold, we must say that Wallke has done a fantastic job. Obviously, it is not going to fold up as well as a traditional folding bike, but it is ‘good enough’. The battery doesn’t get in the way.
The bike weighs just 86 lbs too (including an 11lb battery weight), which means that you shouldn’t have too many issues hauling it around. Again, slightly heavier than a traditional folding bike, but that, obviously, doesn’t feature all the electrics.
Motor
An electric bike is only ever as good as its motor and, we’re telling you now, Wallke has designed a fantastic motor here.
The X3 Pro boasts a 1200W (peak 2000W) motor, which boasts more than enough power to tackle even the most rugged of terrain. In fact, we have heard of some serious mountain bikers who have been in awe at how well the X3 Pro’s motor is able to tackle some proper off-roading escapades.
Ride this bike, and it feels so effortless. The X3 just breezes over everything. It can even tackle some incredibly steep city hills (think along the lines of San Francisco hills) with barely a stutter.
The motor is brushless, which means that maintenance is kept to a minimum (nobody wants to constantly deal with replacing motor brushes, do they?)
Considering the amount of heft behind the motor, it is surprisingly quiet. This makes the bike much more pleasurable to ride, and it means that your fellow cyclists won’t get irritated by a low hum like they would if you picked up most other electric bikes.
Speed & Pedal Assist
The X3 Pro is able to hit a whopping 35mph, assuming you’re on a perfectly level surface. Although, even if you are tackling hills or off-road terrain, the top speed is still perfectly respectful, and far higher than you would ever be able to hit if you were pedaling alone.
There are 5 different pedal assist settings built into the X3 Pro, including an ECO and a sport mode. All of this can be controlled by the handlebar throttle. Whether you are looking for an epic, intense ride, or you just want to breeze through your commute to work with the minimum amount of effort, you’ll find a pedal assist setting that is perfect for you.
Brakes
The X3 Pro comes equipped with four-piston, 203mm hydraulic disc brakes. If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry too much. All you really need to know is that this bike has been designed to slow down incredibly quickly. This is important if you are traveling at speed. The quick slowdown is all thanks to the size of the disc brakes, providing superior gripping power on the wheels.
We absolutely love the brake design here, and it is further evidence of Wallke’s commitment to designing a quality electric bike. The design has ensured that even when you have loose dirt, stones, etc. flying around, the brakes are not going to be impacted. This, again, makes the X3 Pro perfect for off-roading.
Suspension
The X3 Pro has full suspension. This means that your rides are going to be incredibly smooth. As this is designed as an all-rounder bike, the X3 Pro will smooth out city routes and the toughest of trails. It means that you can focus more on the riding and less on the bumps and lumps that are thrown in your direction.
The front fork suspension has various adjustment levels to help soften or stiffen the brakes, depending on how you want your ride to be.
Tires
The Wallke X3 Pro boasts some hefty wide tires. This makes the bike perform incredibly well when off-roading. However, Wallke has designed a set of tires that can perform equally well in the city, which is where most people will likely end up using their Wallke X3 Pro. It really is a very versatile electric bike.
Honestly, the tires provide an incredibly smooth riding experience and the thickness ensures that you can hit those high speeds with ease.
Battery & Bike Range
How does a 40 to 90-mile range sound? Great, right? Well, that’s what you’re getting with the Wallke X3 Pro. It should be perfect for the day-to-day commute, plus your off-roading adventures.
The entire bike is powered by a quality Samsung battery. It is 48V (delivering a hefty chunk of power to the motor), and 20 Ah. The battery is removable, so you can even carry a couple of spares with you.
Charging is incredibly quick, with a 4-6 hour charge cycle.
Cycle Computer
Finally – you have a cycle computer that will give you all the key stats of your ride. It will even display your cadence (important if you are looking to improve as a rider).
