Who Is the FREEDARE Eden E-Bike For?
The FREEDARE Eden E-Bike is designed for urban riding. While FREEDARE does state that the Eden can tackle all surfaces with ease, we see the FREEDARE Eden E-bike as being the perfect bike for the commuter who wants something that is both exciting to ride and packed to the brim full of features. We’ll give a key feature overview later.
We do want to point out that the FREEDARE Eden E-bike has a step-through design. This means that it may be better for those who may struggle to climb up on a standard e-bike (or a traditional bike). We’ll chat more about that later too when we discuss the design!

FREEDARE Eden E-Bike Performance
We’ll use this FREEDARE Eden E-bike review to take a look at the key parts of the Eden, just to help you to decide whether this is the right e-bike for you.
How the FREEDARE Eden E-Bike Rides
At the heart of the FREEDARE Eden E-Bike is a 750W motor. While it isn’t as powerful as you’ll find on some other e-bikes, it still feels fantastic. Sure, you won’t be darting through mountains, or doing epic jumps over big dirt hills with this motor, but the Eden E-Bike hasn’t been designed for that. The e-bike has been designed to make urban riding more comfortable, and there is little that the FREEDARE Eden won’t be able to handle. We’ve managed to climb paved hills with ease, only with a light amount of pedaling.
There is a good amount of suspension on the bike, which helps to make it much more comfortable to ride over smaller bumps in the road, but the e-bike should have no trouble with some bumpier off-road terrain too (not that we would ride this e-bike for long off-road, even if it is capable of it).
FREEDARE Eden E-Bike Maximum Speed
The maximum speed for the Eden is 28mph, which is more than enough for most people. Although, you’d need to be in ideal conditions to hit that sort of speed. Most people will be riding along at 20mph, maximum. This is perfect for an e-bike and should make it nice and zippy for you to get to work.
As with most e-bikes, you’ve got multiple speed modes on here. You have full throttle, where the bike will go along without you needing to pedal, although we don’t tend to use this mode too much. After all, you’re riding a bike, it is great for exercise. Plus, it lowers the range a bit (more on that soon).
In addition to the full throttle mode, you have the pedal assist. This is 0-5, with the higher number, the more pedal assist you get. We stick to 2-3 on this e-bike, and we find that the pedal assist is just the right amount. However, if you want to get up hills a little bit easier, then cranking the Eden up to 5 should be fine.
FREEDARE Eden E-Bike Battery & Maximum Range
The FREEDARE boasts a quality Samsung battery, which shows the amount of care that has been poured into ensuring that the Eden is built using quality components. A Samsung battery will last for years.
The maximum range on the e-bike is quoted at 90 miles, which you’ll only get with the lowest level of pedal assist (0), and on a flat surface. Oh, and the conditions need to be ideal. It’s unlikely that you’ll get anywhere close to 90. Most people seem to get between 50 and 70, although you might squeeze a touch more if you’re a lighter weight.
So, the range is great. You’ll get a good e-bike, that will probably last you a few days on a single charge of the battery. There are not that many other e-bikes on the market that can do that.
FREEDARE Eden E-Bike Extra Features
As with all FREEDARE e-bikes, the Eden has a cycling computer which offers the following:
- Speedometer
- Route planner – you can use the route planner as a GPS, making your commute to work easier.
- Anti-theft: if your e-bike is stolen, you can find out exactly where it is at all times.
- Calorie counter
In addition to this, you can turn on cruise control on the cycling computer, making it easier to dart through the roads at a consistent speed, helping to give you a longer battery life.
FREEDARE Eden E-Bike Design & Comfort
As we said, the FREEDARE Eden E-bike has a good suspension, helping you to stay comfortable no matter where you’re riding.
The seat is comfortable too. It is not heavily padded like some other e-bikes. It is designed to be close to your typical cycling saddle, which means that it offers a comfortable seating position, and you’ll be fine riding for hours on end with this e-bike.
The ‘highlight’ feature is the step-through design, making it easier to mount your e-bike. You don’t need to climb up on anything. Step through the frame, and it’ll be easy to sit down. This makes the Eden perfect for those who may struggle to get onto a traditional bike, perhaps due to an injury.
